At Pathology Visions 2025, Huron Technologies unveiled its next-generation scanners and announced a strategic partnership with the University Health Network (UHN) — Canada’s largest hospital network.
Huron’s next-generation scanners set new standards for throughput, and are built on a platform designed for robustness, ease of use, and exceptional image quality:
– The HT540 showcases a groundbreaking throughput of 360 slides per hour with a parallelized scanning process that delivers unmatched speed and efficiency.
– The VX504, engineered for versatility, can scan everything from cytology slides to whole-mount human brain specimens.
UHN and Huron introduced a hospital-driven collaboration aimed at enhancing diagnostic efficiency through improved image management workflows and the co-development of AI algorithms across the full range of pathology cases — created by pathologists, for pathologists — beginning with a suite for prostate grading.
The session featured insights from Audil Virk, President of Huron Technologies, and Dr. George Yousef and Dr. Fatemeh Zabihollahy from UHN, who shared their perspectives on how these innovations will accelerate and elevate the practice of pathology.
